Calling all Mini Riders
Calling all Mini Riders
Are you a parent that wants to get your little rider more seat time, or that parent that is trying to get involved in the sport with your family but not sure where to start?
Well your in luck because in early 2000’s in Canada a race organization was formed to do just that called Mini Thunder. Jetwerx and crew developed a full on grassroots program to develop young and beginner riders. With care and design a program like this has been fine tuned in the last ten years to what it is today. Which is a fun, family oriented and relatively cheapest way to enjoy our great sport of motocross.
It’s simple, we have 9 -10 classes with mainly separating bike size and availability levels to allow each rider at any age develop at there own pace.
The classes we offer are: (These are class we will begin with and grow from there)
50cc beg (shaft, 3 speed auto)
50cc Open (cob, KTM)
70 - 110cc (3 speed auto)
80-120cc (4 stroke trail versions only)
150cc (4 stroke trail versions only)
65cc-85cc Beg(2 stroke race bikes)
65cc Experience
85cc Experience
Supermini 80cc-105cc (2 stroke race bikes and 150cc race 4 stroke)
The program is very easy:
Go to the track on event night and fill out a Jetwerx Compound membership for the whole year $50 (Good for discounted practice rates and all events hosted at the compound)
Next fill out a Got Gear Mini Thunder sign up sheet. (You only have to Sign up once per year) FREE with Jetwerx Compound Membership.
Finally sign in on the wavier and pay for classes and you finished. It is $20 1st class and $15 for 2nd class and $15 for 3rd.
All events for the rest of the year you will just have to sign in at the gate and pay. We call it speed sign in you will be registered in our system to make it easy. So no waiting in a sign up line doing the same thing each week. It is to save time and daylight.
Tracks:
The Mini Thunder track was designed to be safe but yet confidence building for all riders. With the more experienced Mini Thunder classes riding the Official Track of the AXTOUR in a 6 lane arenacross track under the lights.
Events:
The series is about grassroots, so it is made to be simple. Every series of Mini Thunder through out the year starts with 1-2 practice/sign up days. This allows for questions you may have to be answered and ample amounts of time to feel the warm welcoming feeling into our motocross family while learning the ropes before the racing starts. Once we get into the racing there is points collect toward a season end award. There is not individual event awards.
We welcome you to the future stars of tomorrow, the Got Gear Mini Thunder Riders.
